Hi everyone,

In the GA Guitar 101 section, what do you feel could be added to help beginner guitar players?

Kenny,
PERHAPS a basic explanation of a FEW BASIC CHORD CHARTS...
Explaining how an open CHORD goes from "D" to "D7"..."A" to "A7"...
"C" to "C7"...
Sometimes a BASIC understanding creates a DESIRE to learn the more advanced stuff...
Thanks... Vernon

Kenny

Something about timing and the importance of it at the very beginning of the guitar journey.

I didn't appreciate this when I started playing, preferring to concentrating on chord fingering and changing chords. My journey thus far could described as follows

1. Can't play any chords.
2. Can play many chords but not in the right order.
3. Can play the chords in the right order.
4. Can play the chords in the right order but not at the right time.

Also a video on How to use a metronome would be really useful.

I think the information is good in the Guitar 101 section. I do think it could be more user-friendly. An absolute beginner would like a natural progression and a clear structure to follow through from picking a guitar through the learning process. I think maybe the files could be more structure to reflect this logical flow.

I think your absolute beginners series looks very good.

I know there is all the information you need on this site it is just difficult to find what you need and you don't know anyway unless it follows a natural order.

I know it is always a challenge to arrange information so everyone can find it. I only saw the Absolute Beginners series by a stroke of luck other wise I would not have known it was there. Learning is quiet reliant on the members ability to find information as apposed to have it presented to them.

Anyway this the site is an excellent repository of knowledge.
