"My wife bought me the subscription to our site and
I absolutley LOVE IT! Been playing,
(picking) for 20 years and I am amazed at what I've learned from your
site. It's given me a whole new outlook at playing and I have increased
speed beyond my own belief! THNX" -Dennis Griffith
"About a year ago, I wanted to learn to play the
guitar. I bought myself a "Guitar-for-beginners-book, but soon,
I realised that this book was not giving me the support and instructions
I needed. Untill I met the website of Guitar Alliance; it was so cool
how easy is was to play the guitar. Their C-A-G-E-D system is so unique;
you know the basics in no time ! This site is for everybody; it doesn't
matter if you're a beginner of a professional guitar player : Guitar
Alliance has the goods to be usefull for both of them. Personally, I
already learned a lot with GA, and I'm still learning every day !"
-Peter
"I have been a member of guitar alliance for about
6 months. I had been "hacking around" for nearly 30 years,
trying to learn how to play. I had been stuck on the same old chords
and riffs forever. I was in a rut. I was never going to progress. I
had no idea what I was doing. Then one day, along came Guitar Alliance.
Within the first week, I was beginning to understand my guitar. I was
learning theory. It wasn't complicated. It wasn't demanding. Guitar
Alliance "turned on the lightbulb." I'm still an amateur,
and I'm still learning. But that's the whole idea! I'm learning. I'm
progressing. And that's the reward. Every time I go to the "site,"
I learn something new. Something so easy, and so simple. It makes me
want to kick myself for wasting so much time trying to teach myself.
Give Guitar Alliance a try...you won't believe how easy it is. "
- Jerry Johnson
"It's as simple as this...whether you're a beginning
novice or an experienced player, Guitar-Alliance is the best online
source availble anywhere. The instructions are totally thorough and
the resources, such as Power-Tab, are well worth the small sum of $39.95
for a full year. I never tire of accessing the MP3 jam tracks, and Guitar-Alliance
is always sending valuable information to additional resources for learning
anything and everything about playing the guitar. Kenny Mann, webmaster
and creator of Guitar-Alliance, sincerly wants his members to become
the best they can be...period! Incredible value for the money!"
- Eric Hartig
"I strugeled with learning how to play this darn
thing for two years before signing up with Guitar Alliance. I bought,
and read books, bought DVDs and Video tapes and studied hard. But I
just couldnt get it. I got some big chloisis but couldnt play very good
at all. After about a month at Guitar Alliance I started to notice that
I was visiting the web site for pleasure and entertainment every day.
And at the same time, my friends started to like jamming with me and
I was playin pretty good. Now after about a year at GA, I can play.
And I know if I want to improve even more, I can got to the GA site
and learn what I want to. Thanks guys. You're the real deal! "
-Rick Truelove
" ok, LONG testimonial - i know whoever is reading
this thinks its fake and is written by the owner of this site. YOUR
WRONG. I am a real person of Indian heritage living in Indiana, i'm
17 and have only played guitar for almost 1 year. about 6 months into
learning on my own (never took lessons) i decided it was time to get
some schooling, but not from a real-life teacher. i kept being referred
to this site, guitaralliance.com, from other websites and local self-taught
guitarists and I have to say it was the best decision I ever made. i
could play a few basic chords before, now I can play my scales (SOLOING!)
and even chord phrase to make my originals and covers sound more interesting
and more personal. I have been told i picked up guitar pretty fast but
with this site I can work as fast, or as slow, as I want. and since
it's a website thats running 24 hours a day I can come on whenever,
even at 4 in the morning to learn something new. work at your own pace,
quick or slow, and keep yourself on the right track by learning the
method to the madness with this site, your doing yourself a huge favor,
trust me - P.S. it doesn't matter if you have a guitar teacher either,
this site is great, even if its just for reference material, and who
knows - you may discover you can learn faster than your teacher is teaching
you :) - good luck and have fun playing!" -Abhishek Reddy
"About two months ago, I found your website and at
the beginning I was suspicious about the program you have offered. I
have been taking private lessons in the passed, and was playing the
guitar on and off for many years. And like always, I got tired of playing
the same old chords, and not knowing about how the song actually goes,
until I listened to the CD. I couldn't figure out what chords they were
playing. I didn't know how to tune my guitar and always needed help
from others.
Your website helps me and shows me how to tune my guitar, and inspired
me to play my guitar again. I have learned so much in such a short time
that I would like you to know, how much I appreciate your website.
You have so much to offer for just a low price. I am paying
for a 30-minute private lesson $17.00. With your website I am not tied
up to a certain time and day. I go on at any time I want to, and that's
GREAT!! THANK YOU!!" -Donald Beaudin
"Guitar-Alliance has been the most wonderful experience.
I am 54 years old. I played guitar for about 10 years as a hobby years
ago. I never was any good. I quit at age 30. About 2 years ago my back
trouble got so bad that I could not do any of the things that I was
use to. Hunting, Fishing, ect. So one day I bought a Guitar for my son.
I ended up playing it more than him. I am not able to do much. I have
discovered that I can sit and play for and hour a day or so. Guitar-Alliance
has given me the tools that I need go go as far as I can. It seems easy
for some reason. All the informatio you need to learn to play the Guitar
is right at my finger tips. Thanks Guys. God bless you."
-Jerry Herring
"I have been a struggling guitar player for many
years.I even stopped picking it up at all for fear of playing the same
old same old.And then Guitar Alliance came along and I was like a kid
in a candy store Now if I play the same old same old there is a twist.
You guys are Great!!!! Thanks A Bunch." -Lenny Johnstone

full of easy-to-understand and extremely useful techniques and ideas.
It has thoroughly improved many guitarists, from beginners to experts.
If you wish to develop your guitar skills, I highly advise you to join."
- Ben
"I joined GA over a year ago and it has helped me
alot. The resources are endless and the support from the site and other
members is awesome. I never realized I could make the progress I have
in a year. You rock Kenny!" -Shelia Macaulay
"The Guitar Alliance is here for all guitarist, You can forget
all those High Street Music Shop tuition books when you join Guitar

I actually could do it with my eyes shut. If anyone wants to learn
to play the guitar or even if you can play and you just want to
inprove your skills there is some thing for everyone It was the
best thing I ever did was joining Guitar Alliance and thankyou Kenny
Man Regards to all. " -Eric T White
"I've been really working hard at the lessons you've
got. I began on page one of guitar 101and now, only 2 weeks later
I have already seen a great improvement.
I've learned my CAGED chords and I have only just become able to barre
over all the strings, so I'll be moving on to more advanced stuff soon.
Thanks for creating a great site!" -Erik Mueller
"Great
Site! You've definitely put a ton of work into it. What an awesome
reference for any level player!"
-Jeff Ford
"I first want to compliment you on your web site.
I have learned a LOT in just a week's time. Seriously! I have
messed around playing the same few chords on the guitar for years. Now
within a week I am playing Hendrix riffs. Most of all I have inspired
myself again. Great job!The Guitar Alliance (web site) will be my teacher
for a long time. Thank you for your hard work in creating
this web site." - Randy McCullough
"Just wanted to let you know I've turned a few friends
on to your site. What my buddy Ray and I like about your site is that
even though we played (together, 26 years ago in school), we've still
realized that your site has helped us immensely
getting back into this again. Just wanted to let you know
that we're passing the site on to as many people as we can. Thanks
again, if you ever come to Daytona Beach, maybe you'll get a chance
to see what you've done for me and everyone else who has the dream.
Take care!" -Todd Dillinger
"You have
genuinely created a wonderful blessing for all of us out here learning.
I have never joined a site with so much enthusiasm...ever.
You have arranged the site wonderfully. I have been using your site
for only a short time and I am overwhelmed with all of thoughtfulness,
care and insight that you have used creating your
site. I am looking forward to learning to be a better musician with
you, your team and forum community for years to come. I want to
thank you... --Guy Langellotti
(alias Cricketmon)
"I really like the technique section. There seems
to be a lack of exersises on the other sites I've seen and these are
all laid out in a logical progression. It really gives one a sense
of direction. The riffs section is cool too, because not only do
you have the tabs, but some audio examples. I can help you get into
a song, and give you a starting point.
The song study section is the reason I decided to join.
I thought it was a great Idea to learning a song, breaking it up in
chunks, and relating them to the theory. I am enjoying working through
"The Wind Cries Mary", and there is just enough theory
in there to enhance, but not detract from the song itself. I encourage
you to continue on with this section, it's
great." -Jack Mathers
"I think your site is the best! I've learned a lot
and look forward to even more. You make it easy to understand and back
it up with examples. I've been looking for instruction like this for
months. I can't thank you enough." -Ed Dickson
"This website is a great place to start learning
to play guitar from. There are lessons for every level and you just
have to start with the one at the level you are at. I wish I hadn't
spent all that money on books for all these years. I could start a used
guitar book store. I think there is only a fraction of books that I
actually really learned anything from. I have learned more off this
site than I have from a book. On top of that you have access to the
author and he likes to have your feedback. That is just cool. Thanks
Kenny. This really is great." -Gary Allen
"I just thought I would write to let you know
how impressed I am with this site and service. I started playing about
5 months ago and have since spent several hundred dollars on books
and other related teaching material. I wish I had found you first.
I could have saved all that money. You have answered so many of my
questions and have given me a renewed excitement for learning. I was
really starting to get bummed out and thought that I would never understand
all there is to know.
While I realize that I will never be like my hero SRV
I have confidence in being able to become pretty good eventually. I
am 36 and being female I find that I don't get taken seriously regarding
my desire to learn the guitar. With the help of your site and the other
members in the forum I know that some day I will be able to say, 'I
told you so!' I love everything about the service you offer and I can
honestly say it was the best money I have ever spent. Have a great day."
-Susan a.k.a. dolphinsue
"Honestly, I think this site is better than any one
book I've read. The book only has so much material of one kind of music,
isn't updated or added onto, and if you don't understand what the book
is trying to say your screwed.
Whereas on this site, they have material from basic chord
formation and strumming to arppegios and lead work. They have printable
scales, a riff-o-matic with popular riffs you've heard of all kinds
of music, and the best part is there is and audio track with most things
so you can hear if your playing correctly and sound how you should.
Plus, you just pay once and they constantly add new material
almost everyday. Also, the administrators are really nice and don't
mind you emailing them for help." -Michael Law
"I have for years struggled (unsuccessfully) to learn
to 'play guitar'. It is now almost a year since i joined guitar alliance
and can only sing the praises of this 'extended family' before GA, attempting
to play was a chore, now because i understand so much more thanks to
GA, playing has become fun again and to me that is what it is all about
MANY THNANKS TO YOU ALL AT GUITAR ALLIANCE." - Ian Duffi
"I seldom make a testimonial at all unless my experience
is above my expectation. With a busy schedule everyday of my life, there's
hardly a room to fit every thing I want do, including the hobby of learning
to play the guitar with a live instructor and the impractical expense
of pursuing the guitar education via this one-on-one route. With your
website and the hyperlinks in it, I got a short glimpse of what it site
has to offer. It really added to my learning needs and would not hesitate
to recommend it to anyone. To all of you whose guitar is the next best
thing to a wife/partner, check this site out and enjoy!" -
Maria
"Thanks Kenny, I joined Guitar-Alliance years ago.
I visited the site pretty regular at that time. I might add that I learned
a lot. My interest has risen and fallen over the years but it great
to know that I can always pick up some new tricks or complete songs
when I want. If you are new to Guitar or the Alliance put forth the
effort and follow the lessons. You'll not find a better instructor at
any price. And its just plain FUN." -Mike Brawley
"I signed up last night, and (literally) today
I'm sounding entirely different. Granted I have some background, but
if I'd found this site when I first started playing I'd be doing great
right now. It's encouraging that the site has stuff in there that I
consider basic, and stuff I have never, ever heard of. So a person could
literally take these lessons all the way from learning their first
chords to being an advanced guitarist.
I think I'm well on my way, after only a few hours of work. I just wish
I'd found it sooner. P.S.. - All of this was for about the cost of ONE
prviate lesson." -Larry Kirby
"Dear Kenny, I have been playing the guitar for quite sometime.Mostly
open chords and rhythm. Since I joined Guitar-Alliance, I have been
learning new things everyday that I never knew existed. I am looking
forward to gaining more knowledge as I get deeper into the course.
Many thanks. " -Jesse R. Scarborough
"I am so impressed with
your site. I have been playing for four years and I have
never had any lessons, I wish I would have came across this site a long
time ago. I have always struggled with my lead patterns and understanding
how to stay in key with a song. You have made it easy for me
to understand what I am doing and what I have been trying to understand
for so long. I also wanted to thank you for your quick and easy to
understand response to my questions. I will continue to check out
the sight everyday and hopefully progress my skills even more."
-Andy Bartow
"This is the coolest guitar site on the net! I was
a basic level player (I didn't even know what a Power Chord was) and
now I'm playing music from artists like Metallica, Stevie Ray Vaughan,
and Ozzy Osbourne. This is a great site
for beginners!!" - Chris Cook
"Great Site! You've definitely put a ton of work
into it. What an awesome reference for any
level player!" -Jeff Ford
"Just dropping a line to say how much I think
of Guitar Alliance and the fantastic CAGED system. I've been playing
guitar seriously since the age of 14 (I'm 22 now) and am considered
a talented and entertaining guitarist throughout Melbourne's pub circuit
(That's Melbourne, Australia; not Florida). I have always been self
taught and never have been really able to afford the cost or time
of tuition and really needed to bone up on my fingerboard and chord
knowledge. I have been using the site since Sunday night and I think
it is fantastic!! Did I say fantastic? I meant, "CRIKEY ITS
FANTASTIC!!!" (croc hunter lingo)." - David Leamon
"I love this site!!
It's been a great help getting me going again with my playing. I have
learned more new stuff in the last 4 or 5 days then I did in years before!
I really like the printer ready pages! I can't always get to
the computer (I have a wife and daughter that want to use the computer
too), so I printed the pages and put them in a binder so I can still
practice my scales and chords without the computer." -Mark Hodges
"I started playing guitar by ear when I was 8 years
old and trust me that is a long time. (Besides, the calouses you get
on your ears are unsightly). I strummed and picked a little but didn't
get serious about technique until I was in my early twenties. A classical
guitar player that I chanced to meet by the name of Fredrich Hand introduced
me to some books on classical technique. I started getting more into
jazz, which necessarily requires some understanding of harmony - what
the scale and the chords built on its notes mean and how they fit toogether.
I had more time to practice then so it was all good (the technique,
I mean). Unfortunately, I have had or made the time to practice as much
in the past years but recently decided to brush up. There are some great
technical exercises and a clear explanation of harmony on this site.
These guys are telling the truth about how to develop good technique.
The exercises ain't always fun and they may not always sound pretty
but they can't fail to make you a better player if you apply them. Here's
a quote from my high school music teacher, Doug Howard, "Practice
makes perfect only if you practice perfectly.", so do 'em they
way they tell you to. Here's another thing. If you taught yourself to
play and play by ear, this stuff is not gonna come easy to you in the
beginning. You'll have some bad habits to overcome. It will be worth
it! If you stared playing by ear, relying on your innate musical feeling,
this stuff will seem to constrain you at first. Slog on! When you come
through the fire you'll be a better payer on the other side. The feeling
will take over again but you'll have some monster chops in the bargain.
Play on!" - Chris Hall
"I found that your site is one of the fastest and
best ways to learn new chops. Kenny are you a vampire? I get
a response (to questions or problems) even if it's in the middle of
the night!!!! Don't you ever sleep?
"If it got any easier than this someone would be
doing it for me. Great lessons,
that don't talk down to you no matter how much or little you know, how
much better could it be than that? Thanks for everything, I mean it
from the bottom of my guitar picking heart, and Ms. Lynda (my guitar)
thanks you too." - Daniel "TexasBluBoy" Kimball
"I just have to say wow. Your site is amazing. I
have always been interested in playing, but have always held off because
of the 'complicated' mess of learning chords, and all that junk. Your
site lays it all out in a simple, and straight-forward fashion;
and is the first Ive ever seen with such accurate, helpful, and convenient
information. I am totally psyched to
play now, I just printed off everything I was needing to know. Thanks
so much, keep up the good work!" -Kyle Davis
"Guitar Alliance is amazing...for
lack of a much better word...I swear I'm living proof that you guys
have figured out the fastest way to learn the guitar...thank
you for being there!! I learned more in 5 minutes than I did by myself
in 3 months... no lie..." --Shane Lavalley
"I purchased a membership for my daughter about a
year ago after giving her a Stratocaster guitar and a Marshall amp for
her birthday. Sadly she hasn't been able to use any very much. She plays
in the band and has a very busy schedule. She plans to try more. I have
been trying to teach myself how to play for thirty years now and since
she doesn't use her presents I have been. And Boy Howdy, let me tell
you, I have learned more and improved more in the last year than the
rest of my entire life thanks to the Guitar Alliance. Thanks guys for
putting this site on the internet I really do appricate it. Thanks again,
Robin PS Don't get me wrong, I'm still not Eric Clapton but give me
another 130 yrs or so." - Robin Rush
"Guitar Alliance is a living, breathing site with
fresh daily content, an active forum, and good overall advice for players
of all levels and contemporary styles. The benefits of membership is
well worth the modest price being asked."
"Hey Kenny , I am always happy to hear from you or any of the vast
sites I have acquired by that first membership I joined some time ago
now. I want you to know that you and all the rekindled joy of playing
again with those first Real Friends I had.It has been more than 30 years
since we all have gotten back together (60s/70s) and recalled all the
old storys and Music that we enjoyed and several of us played. Being
a Blues addict after I followed the folk scene and was fortunate enough
to live in San Diego during those years that can't really be explained
, at least by myself,we all met for a sort of re-union a year of so
after you and the bug for music came back into my life. I must also
include those that still pick up an instrument and spend one week each
year (since 2001) up in a cabin a few of us built long ago and remains
kept up without any one particular resident. We get together in October
up in the mountains again and talk , play music , recall those that
have already burned out far to fast and life is again Real and the music
and company is like that which if we are lucky , relate. Our gratitude
to you and all the old and even a few new tricks are now a part of our
music again and for the first time . Thanks for giving , me,hell all
of us something we let wither like the live we were living before you
brought me and those times I dismissed for a future without any dreams
left. Music, like no other gift is there to bring back times and the
people who are truly the fabric of one's joy from sharing and giving.
Keep that fire burning in us , even if it is just a sound that triggers
a piece of a memory and a smile that makes the eyes water a bit and
it's alright to be you. I been doing some hard travlin & now is
that second chance with those who never knew what closure meant when
it came to friends and their music? Have good times and Holidays Kenny."
