Riff Rundown

Difficulty: Intermediate

Main Theme

Kids In The Hall was sort of a Canadian version of Saturday Night Live. Old episodes of the skit comedy still run on Comedy Central sometimes. The guitar driven theme song has always stuck out.

The first, third, fifth, and seventh measures are the same. The second and sixth measures are also identical.

Begin the first measure by playing a G chord. You do this by placing your 2nd finger on the third fret on the "low E" string. Place your 1st finger on the second fret on the "A" string. Use your 3rd and 4th fingers on the third frets of the "B" string and the "high E" string. Play that twice. Use your 4th finger on the "G" string to play the fourth fret, and then use your 1st finger on the second fret. End the measure by playing the "G" string open once.

Begin the second measure by using your 1st finger on the second fret on the "D" string. Play the same string open once, and then play the second fret again. End the measure by playing the "G" string twice open.

Play the fourth measure by doing exactly as you did in the second measure until you are about to play the second fret a third time. On the third time, you are to pull-off on the "D" string. A pull-off is when you go from a higher note to a lower note, only striking the first note(s). Play that with your 1st finger, and then just repeat it on the "A" string to end the measure.

Play the eighth measure by using your 3rd finger on the third fret on the "B" string. Allow the "high E" string to play open once before playing. Lift off with your 3rd finger and play the "B" string open a few times. Play the second fret on the "G" string with your 2nd finger, and then lift off and play the same string open twice.
