Difficulty: Easy - Intermediate

I would like to extend a very special thanks to Herman, a prized member, that has transcribed this song. It's very well done, and I couldn't thank him enough. If you're out there Herman, you are very very very much appreciated. --Nathan

UPDATE :

From Herman:

" Hi Nathan, thanks for mentioning me with the song. You forgot to mention that it should be played with a shuffle feel instead of straight eighths.

I forgot to mention that the second guitar is played with a slide and for who is interested, the first guitar is originally a Gibson Les Paul and the slide is a Fender Strat...Here is the version that I recorded and with both parts played on a Strat since I don't have a Les Paul ( too bad, I wish I had one) .Keep up the good work."

From Nathan:

Herman is absolutely right. I didn't play it with a slide and you can hear the difference. The main reason I didn't/don't record the 'slide' parts as slide guitar is because many of you have expressed that you don't have a slide but still wanted to learn the concept of slide guitar. This will allow you to hear what it sounds like without a slide, and then when you get a slide for your guitar, you'll be able to play it much easier.

If you would like to record a version of any song that you have learned and have it heard at any one of our sites, it's really simple. (If we get enough in we'll even set up a "Member Renditions" page to host your song collection!)

Here's what you do:

  1. Find a song that is either in PTB (Power Tab) or Guitar Pro. You can find those at Ultimate-Guitar.com.
  2. Record it using the file you have saved so that your audio matches the tablature.
  3. Save the tablature and the audio file(s) in MP3.
  4. Email the tab and audio to me at nathan@guitaralliance.com
  5. I'll set the riff up and post it for you, giving you full credit.

Now everyone can join in and get MANY more songs up and running! We will check the tabs and audio out first to ensure accuracy, but once that is done, you'll have your own version on the web! As mentioned earlier - Give me just 5 songs and you'll have your own web page right here at this site.

Why do this?

Nothing proves that our site works more than living breathing guitar work from a member. I know there are times that you aren't interested in a given song, but by playing it you have really expanded your knowledge of different styles of guitar work and it allows you to see where others are using certain techniques that you may have not thought of using before.

As you heard, Herman's version was much better than my snippets of audio used for reference. I'm pleased to say that as well. That's the beauty of this site. If everyone joins in, we'll all learn a thing or two about great music and great guitar work. Plus, it will allow some of you to learn songs much quicker because we can have many more people working on songs for others that are more of the 'taste' that you are looking for. Good at AC/DC? Let us know by playing it for us! Good at Hendrix? Send it in! I'm ready for the emails!

If you need more assistance, just email me and I'll help you.
