Here is a riff that has been requested numerous times. The song is
set at 170 bpm (beats per minute) and has quite a few up and down strokes
in it. The upstrokes are noted by a "v" under the tablature. The other
one is the downstroke. This is easier than it may seem. All you have
to do is play the strings in an upstroke by moving your pick up on
the strings instead of strumming downward. It is the opposite for the
downstroke.
